My Youtube Camera & Editing Software + Book Launch!

Hey loves! I'm often asked about the camera I use to film natural hair tutorials as well as my editing software. I never really understood that question. I'm a huge DIY-er, I'll make pretty much anything work. I thought I'd put together this post to share my tips and tricks as well as details on my camera anyway. I am by no means a professional, but there are tons of tutorials on youtube to help you out with lighting equipment as well as digital camera reviews. I started my channel back in 2006, my uploads were extremely sporadic hence my 15 second camera phone puppy vlogs, my incomplete hair tutorials and my inconsistent uploading schedule. I was just having fun, haha!

Thankfully a few years later; today I am now able to film on a Fujifilm Finepix HS 30 EXR, in 1080p HD quality. Special shoutout to Sarkazz on Youtube. I use this camera for all of my blog photography as well as my hair tutorials. The pop out screen and zoom quality is amazing!

I started off using Windows Movie Maker, which is the standard editing software equipped on "most" windows computers. Today I am using PowerDirector for all of my video editing & special effects!

My Laptop is an HP Pavillion dv7

My vlog camera is a Sony Cybershot 16.1 megapixel; great for capturing moments on the go, without the bulk of a heavy camera.

Last but not least, I have a simple $20 tripod from  Target: Targus Brand

There you have it! Welcome to my humble "Studio" haha! If you are working on a budget, please don't expense yourself. Work with what you have & upgrade as you progress in your youtube journey.
